You will complete your Scuba Pool Training Sessions
At this beautiful facility located just three miles South of the city of San Francisco.

Dive Safety and good common sense.
*It is in the interest of safety and also good common sense, to be able to complete the following three basic swimming skills: a 250 yard non-stop swim which is not timed, a 50 foot underwater swim on one breath, and a 10 minute treading water exercise. Successful completion of these skills is required to continue with the Scuba Diver class. If you have any doubts about performing these three basic skills please practice and master them before the first night of class.

*Go to 21 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS for honest answers to honest questions. There are some dive businesses in the S.F. Bay Area who claim that for $199 you can become a certified Scuba Diver in one weekend. Please don't be fooled by misleading advertising - that is not possible with any agency. Some agencies consider their "Scuba Diver Certification" to be an entry level certification which only allows you to dive with an Instructor. The NAUI Scuba Diver Certification is a FULL CERTIFICATION and is only awarded to divers who have mastered diving skills and have earned the right to be called a "Certified Diver". All the information presented on my website is factual, honest, and easy to understand.

Applicants must be a minimum of 15 years of age (10 years for junior certification). Basic swimming skills are required. No equipment purchases are necessary, the course fee of $349.00 is all-inclusive and includes the following:
-The use of all personal gear (mask, snorkel, fins, boots, & gloves)

Classroom instruction and pool training are conducted in an enjoyable atmosphere with personalized attention to individual needs. The conclusion of classroom and pool training are followed by two days of enjoyable open water diving in beautiful Monterey Bay. The ocean dives are simply a repeat of the skills and knowledge you have mastered in class and pool.

At the successful completion of your open water training you will be issued a NAUI Scuba Diver certification card. The certification card allows you to dive anywhere in the world without the supervision of an instructor. The NAUI card is respected worldwide and it gives you access to diving fun and adventure reserved solely for people with your qualifications.

For our new students who wish to purchase their own "personal gear" (mask, snorkel, gloves, boots, and fins), we offer a Scuba Diver Special priced at the unbeatable low price of $159.00. We recommend you make no Scuba equipment purchases (buoyancy compensators, regulators, tanks, computers, etc.) until after your Scuba Diver course is completed. This enables you to make wise purchases based on the experience and knowledge you have gained during your Scuba certification course. If you decide to make Scuba equipment purchases after you are certified, we offer huge savings on quality gear.

For those of you who prefer warm water diving, Mitchell Scuba is a participant in the "Universal Referral Program", which has been adopted by the following Scuba certification agencies: NAUI, YMCA, SSI, NASDS, PDIC, & IDEA. This program gives students the option to complete their open water training anywhere in the world with participating instructors. We also accept referrals for completion of their dives at California locations such as Monterey Bay and the Sonoma/Mendocino Coast.
