SCUBA DIVER EQUIPMENT SPECIAL
Scuba diving classes, lessons, and Information for the San Francisco Bay Area diver

The "personal equipment" for Scuba divers consists of their: mask, snorkel, gloves, boots, and fins. These are the items normally brought with certified divers when they go diving. Many divers simply rent their "Scuba equipment" which consists of: Scuba tank, regulator assembly including compass and gauges, buoyancy compensator, and possibly a dive computer.

Here at Mitchell Scuba we don't require that you make any purchases at all for your Scuba diver certification course. The all-inclusive price of $329.00 includes the use all of your personal equipment, as well as your Scuba equipment. Most dive shops will require that you purchase your personal gear before your water activities begin, usually at a cost of $250.00 or more (I have heard of some costs up to $320.00). My "personal" gear package sells for $155.00.

We offer a "Scuba Diver Special" option for our new Scuba students. The equipment available in this "personal equipment" package is shown below. The fins shown are very durable and I have been using mine for over 2 years and hundreds of dives. The gloves are as "tough as nails" and can really take a beating. The masks vary from student to student due to different face and bone structure, and your mask will be a perfect fit for your face. The snorkels are all purge-valve snorkels which have become standard equipment for most, and the booties are very durable 5 mil. (3/16") thick zipper booties with a hard sole. Approximately 80% of my students choose to purchase the "Scuba Diver Special", because after checking around at different dive shops they know the "package" price of $155.00 is unbeatable.

There is, of course, a "catch" - your "Scuba Diver Special" must be purchased before your check out dives in Monterey, and you are responsible for transporting your "personal equipment" to the check out dives. It is not much of a "catch", and most are eager to take care of their own "personal equipment".
